I’ve never been a big sketchbook person, but I do like to doodle on napkins to hide my social discomfort, plus, the crappy texture makes for a welcome challenge (although some of the fancier napkins you see these days are better than the paper I use in my work). This is a tiny fraction of the things I’ve drawn in order to avoid prolonged eye contact--most of them were thrown away, or used and intended, and then thrown away. There is a particularly excellent owl that I wish I had preserved or documented.
